I will admit that Cot and Caught sounds different to me.
Berry and Barry are different to me.
I pronounce pin and pen the same. Merry, Mary, and Marry all sound the same to me.
I dare someone on here to say that they prononce to, too, and two differently on here, if you do then I know you're bs'n me. There's another one, do and due. I'm about to go get some tee (y'all know what I mean).

I say "cot" like hot. It's shorter, clipped. "Caught" I draw out a beat longer... sounds more like cawwht. I'm from Texas.

Im from NYC and:

Cot and Caught are different.

Mary and Marry are the same but Merry is different.

Pin and Pen are different.

Oh, and I say "Mary" and "merry" the same (short e sound like in "egg"), but "marry" differently (short a sound like in "apple"). "Pin" and "pen" are the same.
