I like the New England states. Beaches, mountains, forests, and rolling farmland. Not to mention the 18th and 19th century architecture that dots the landscape.
My friend from California said himself that it was far uglier there than it is here.
The Sierra's are the tallest, and in my opinion most beautiful, mountain range in the lower 48. Combine that with the rest of the scenery in CA, and it's hard to beat.
1. Oregon
2. Washington
3. Northern California, San Joaquin Valley, and the Sierras (SoCal is a dump)
4. Montana
I have a ton of Oregon/Washington pictures that I will post at some point...
Also, I have been to both Yosemite NP and Glacier NP and for me, Glacier wins the beauty contest hands down. I don't think I have ever had a more amazing drive than Going to the Sun Highway. I have pictures from there that I will post as well.
I can't vote because I haven't seen all the states yet. My experience has been that each state I have visited has been beautiful in its own way. My state, North Carolina, has beauty in the people who live here.

I'll post some more pics of the Cascades later and some of the other regions as well.
