Personally, I'd rather live in a non-partisan type state. I've recently knocked California for being too liberal, and Oklahoma and Texas for being too conservative. I'm moving to Michigan and I think that will suit me just fine as it seems to be somewhat balanced.
I'm a liberal and I love living in Texas. I would never decide on what state to live in based on whether it is a red or blue state. There is so much more to factor in when deciding on where to live.
Libertarian state
or a state with efficient government (nonexistent)
at least no forced unions; I don't need any extra paperwork
I rather keep the questionable "moral issues" out of politics; Politicians don't have the best track record with them. The only moral issues I'll accept are ones where an act hinders someone from having the opportunity to benefit from the marketplace (with a line of how indirectly you can go to get your moral dilemma to fit my criterion) or the act of rape. Don't worry; I haven't thought this through completely, so don't bug me with details.
We are proving now that there is no real value in having a vote. so I might as well live in a benign monarchy. I've livedin 8 other countries, and it didn't really mater in any of them if there were ever any elections. Civil order was maintained, there were no arbitrary arrests, there was due process for people who were arrested as well as appropriate redress in civil courts, people could travel freely and work in any field they chose, and there was universal educatin and health care. What else would you want?
