- Easily, the Jonas Brothers, who came from my county. I go =_= when I see those Youtube vids of squealing fan girls going up to their old house and touching it.
- Second name from the top of my head is Anthony Bourdain. He was born in NYC, but grew up in NJ (- Leonia, which is also in my county).
Tom Brokaw (NBC anchor, retired), Tom Daschle (was minority leader, majority leader for short time), George McGovern (1972 Presidential candidate), Adam Venetari (NFL), Mike Miller (NBA), Sparky Anderson (baseball), Mary Hart (television personality), Pat O'Brien (television personality), Hubert Humprhy (born in SD, although spent most his time in Minnesota-VP under LBJ and 1968 VP candidate, Sitting Bull (Native American warrior), Billy Mills (1964 Olympic athlete), Shawn Colvin (born in here, singer), Brock Lesnar (wrestler), Terry Redlin (artist-outdoorsy paintings), Laura Ingalls Wilder (lived in SD for a period of time, author), Bob Barker (born here, TV personality), and Cheryl Ladd (telervision personality). I lived in LA as well and feel that the CT celebs are wealthier, more modest and are intelligent. Most of the people I added are people we all see on TV everyday.

I once saw Regis and Joy shopping in downtown Westport. They were rummaging through the pile of clothes on the SALE table with a sign that read "$9.99 and under." Reege actually takes the time to chat with people around him, and it noticably aggrivates Joy, LOL.
I decided just to list the most famous people in the Hartford area. If I had delved into the rest of the state it would have taken a long time to list them all. :-) Henry Kissinger I believe, also lives in Litchfield County. Forgot about Gayle King which is funny because I used to watch her all the time when she was a news anchor on WFSB TV 3 In Hartford. Col. James Doolittle was from the Hartford area too I believe. He founded WDRC Radio and flew the lead B 25 Mitchell of the group that bombed Tokyo a few months after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
