You're right. I mean Bruce Springsteen!

While I'm at it... add Yogi Berra to the list since he's currently residing in a nearby town in Bergen.

Nobody is famous from my hometown of Simsbury, CT though several New England and Hartford Whalers hockey players did live there at one time and Sportscaster Greg Gumbel (Bryant's brother) used to live there. Not sure if he does now.

However, there are quite a few from the Hartford area that were either born there or lived there for many years. They are as follows:

Katherine Hepburn,
Mark Twain,
Harriet Beecher Stowe,
Linda Evans,
Samuel Colt,
Frederick Law Olmstead,
Noah Webster,
JP Morgan,
Totie Fields,
William Gillette,
Eriq LaSalle,
Norman Lear,
Charles Nelson Riley,
Brooke Burke,
Sophie Tucker,
Amy Brennaman,
Jackie McLean,
The Porcaro Brothers of the rock group Toto,
Rick Mahorn,
Marcus Camby,
Jeff Bagwell,
Vin Baker,
John Carney (NFL Kicker),
Eric Mangini (Jets Coach),
Doug Wimbish,
Mark McGrath,
Dominick Dunne,
John Gregory Dunne, (Author)
Eugene Robinson,
Wallace Stevens
Wavy Gravy (famous Hippie)
Ron Palillo, (Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter)
Al Haig (lived in the suburb of Farmington at one time)
Mike Tyson (owned mansion in Farmington)
Susan St. James (lives in nearby Litchfield)

I will add a few more to the Connecticut list because there are so many around there. I live in MO now but miss seeing the famous faces around town in CT wearing jeans and a baseball cap. I lived in LA as well and feel that the CT celebs are wealthier, more modest and are intelligent. Most of the people I added are people we all see on TV everyday.

This list does not include those who live/lived in CT to attend Yale.

Meg Ryan
Katherine Haigl
Judge Judy
Harrison Ford - Lives full-time in CT Steve-O, not Chicago!
Derek Jeter
Woody Allen
the late Paul Newman and Ms. Woodward
Calven Klein
Mia Farrow
REEGE (Regis Philbin)
Diane Sawyer
Rosie O'Donnell
Kathy Lee Gifford
Michael Bolton
Ann Coulter (someone we are not too proud of!!!)
Tom Hanks
Larry King
George W. Bush (again, not too proud of that)
the late Katherin Hepburn
Judge Marilyn Milian (People's Court)
Barbara Walters
Chelsea Clinton
Ralph Lauren
50 (Fiddy) Cent
Joy Behar (The View)
Jennifer Aniston (spent summers in CT from 1995-2007)
THE DONALD (Trump)
David Letterman
James VanDerbeek
John Mayer
Martha Stewart (until 2007 - phew)
Rihanna
Kirsten Dunst
Courtney Cox
Katherin Helmond
Gayle King
Kevin Bacon
Michael J Fox
Meryl Streep
Chris Murphy
Christopher Walken
Steve Young
Chris Berman
Karen Carpenter
Moby
Liz Phair
Glenn Close
Mel Gibson
Mary Tyler Moore
Diana Ross
Montel Williams
Dorothy Hamill
Tommy Hilfiger

There are many more that I can't really think of now - TOO EARLY!

I once saw Regis and Joy shopping in downtown Westport. They were rummaging through the pile of clothes on the SALE table with a sign that read "$9.99 and under." Reege actually takes the time to chat with people around him, and it noticably aggrivates Joy, LOL.

I decided just to list the most famous people in the Hartford area. If I had delved into the rest of the state it would have taken a long time to list them all. :-) Henry Kissinger I believe, also lives in Litchfield County. Forgot about Gayle King which is funny because I used to watch her all the time when she was a news anchor on WFSB TV 3 In Hartford. Col. James Doolittle was from the Hartford area too I believe. He founded WDRC Radio and flew the lead B 25 Mitchell of the group that bombed Tokyo a few months after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
