Assuming that you're from any other part of the country, which city would you chose to move and why?

Almost all these cities are exceptable to me.

Although I actually like Charlotte's location nearer the mountains better, I picked VA Beach for several reasons.

1. In my favorite Southern state (and my 3rd over all) VA has more history than any other state and I am a history fanatic. Also a very well rounded state with mountains, bay and ocean.
2. By the ocean although this is not necessary
3. Closest to the Northeast where I assume my family and friends will still be. Driveable (although a long drive lol).

Charlotte and North Carolina in general is a very good substitute.

My brother if he ever moves would take Dallas in a heartbeat!

VA Beach. It's closest to civilization, and populated by northerners

Several of the above posters are still fighting the civil war. This explains the bitter and ignorant statements.

If I had to move elsewhere in the South, my top choice would be Charleston, followed by Atlanta. Actually, I could be happy in many other places here in the South as well as in the North because I actually have an open mind. That is something that the ignorant can, with alot of work, achieve too

I'd do everything I could to stay up north, but if it wasn't feasable at all, I'd pick Virginia Beach. Like others have said, it's closest to the north.

Most large cities in the South dont really have a Southern feel. Even Nashville feels like Ohio to me. I think Northerners would have an easier time fitting in in Southern cities than Southerners in Northern cities.

I think city people anywhere would have an easier time of fitting into other cities anywhere. Same goes for people in rural areas.
