Burlington VT , it is such a vibrant, lively community and the environment is not bad either !
I would choose Bangor second because Maine is just such a fantastic place to be.

Traverse City, MI. Been to all of them on the list actually and just like the TC area best. Not that any of them would be a bad place to be IMHO. All would make for a decent choice for a place to live.

Oh I can think of at least one on the list that would not be a good place to live. Crossville TN. I can't stand the place. It's like a little piece of Florida retirement ghetto uprooted and plopped down in Tennessee.
