Buffalo! - "The City that never sleeps on the other side of New York State"
Last call is at 4am! Hit the Chip Strip! Never a dull night — What Buffalo offers when the lights go down : College Students' Guide to Buffalo : The Buffalo News (http://www.buffalonews.com/317/story/407743.html - broken link) All about misconceptions...
All these stories, brings back "fond" memories of my first 5-6 years here.
Working 9-5, going home and eating dinner, watch some TV, go out around 10pm, stay till last call at 4am, come home and sleep 2.5 hours, get up and go back to work. Did that up to three times a week, then just CRASHED on the off nights.
I was just thinking last week how I've been so lame the past few months. Of course then this weekend I randomly ended up out until 4am on Friday and 5am last night...followed by breakfast after and both nights crashing on friends couches. I haven't seen the sun rise two night in a row in well over a year.

But, IMHO, Vegas has passed NY in 24/7 activity. The main difference is that in Vegas you can more easily lose track of time. You can be in a casino where you eat dinner, go to the nightclub, gamble, eat again, go to another nightclub, without every stepping foot outside, and the next thing you know it's 8:30 AM.
You lose track in Las Vegas because there are hardly any clocks anywhere, especially casinos

lol just the size? Ok, New Orleans must be tied with NYC as far as diversity, skyscrapers, culture, etc
Sauget, IL is about 10 minutes from downtown STL. The clubs are open and serving 24/7/365. Are there other places besides NV that have these hours. Maybe I missed the answer.

You're the only one I've ever heard say that.
Well greater size usually implies more of all these things. My point was that, in terms of nightlife, NYC only benefits by being substantially larger than New Orleans, thus leading in terms of sheer variety. But the quality of the nightlife is different in terms of "cities that never sleep".
New York is said to be the city that never sleeps and if that is true, New Orleans should be know as the city that doesn't care much about anything else but fun, and that includes New York's sleeping habits. Come, have fun, and enjoy.
