Cool map, very accurate too, but does South Florida have the Western accent?

To say that 'valley' is the prevalent accent in Southern California is a big exaggeration. Its accent is definitely Western.

Pittsburgh is in the same accent region as East TN? Er, I don't think so.

No. South Florida has a Cuban Accent.

I wouldn't call the accent of ND/MN/WI Canadian, maybe Scandinavian(maybe that wouldn't work with all the German ancestry up here though), but we don't say things like "eh" or really have an accent that mirrors Canada. It is similar but the accent we have is also similar to the midwest as well.

Accents in NJ sound different than here. I don't know why it's so spread out into that state.

I thought southern NJ had a Philly or Pa. accent. Philly does have its own unique accent, much as Boston does too.

Southern Illinois in the same accent as the South? Yea, those lines are severely blurred.

Why is northern Maine blue?

It definitely has canadian influence but not the same canadian influence as the north midwest's "canadian accent" (which is also questionable). Quebec has a very different ummm.... "accent" than Ontario.

Overall, a valiant effort but many people will have issues with this. Almost every city east of the Mississippi thinks it has it's own very unique accent. Personally, I think a Maine accent or even a Rhode Island accent is different than a Boston accent. Hell, people have different accents depending on what side of Boston they live in. I'm sure Philly boosters will be furious. If Baltimore had any boosters they would be too.
