In your opinion, which "Southern cities" (not only in location, but in overall vibe) have the most culture, arts, music, nightlife, etc.? Which would be most vibrant for someone in their 20s?
I'd say Miami, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. However, a lot of people would say that all of these cities don't feel Southern. Maybe Nashville??
They definitely feel southern for somebody not from the south, if you are from the south and not from one of these cities, it will most likely feel less southern or what you think might be northern influences in many cases. This is at least in the context of "new south" cities... atl/dal/hou/char ... deep south you are going to have to go elsewhere as well as to get a dominant southern vibe. If you want deep south go to other cities in georgia besides atlanta...albany macon savannah...or alabama, mobile, montgomery, tuscaloosa, somewhat birmingham... also jackson ms. new orleans is a different vibe. just plain southern, memphis, nashville, richmond, charleston.

Yeah Albany GA you will really get an old south feel. I was suprised though at how rough some of the areas in Albany are, that for sure goes to show you that some of those smaller cities can be just as ghetto if not more so than big cities.
I would say Dallas, but it doesnt really feel southern to me.
