Is College Park still considered Orlando's old money neighborhood? It was when I was living there. I always thought it was odd that the city's 'best and worst' were right across Colonial Drive from each other.

The old money area of St Louis city is definetely around Central West End. Between the private streets and the gorgeous houses on Lindell Blvd across the street from Forest Park, the area is full of huge, beautiful homes. This area also has plenty of highrise condos/apartments, restaurants, bars, local shops, etc. Very popular place for young people as well.

Outside of city limits, I would say Clayton and Ladue are very established. Clayton has it's own downtown w/ high rises and lots of business, and it borders the city. The housing stock is also gorgeous here. It's also close to Washington University. Ladue is where many of the wealthy executives seem to build their private estates. Lots of private streets and humongeous homes.

I've only lived in Fort Wayne for a couple of years, but it seems that the Forest Park area NE of downtown is one of the historically wealthy urban neighborhoods.

In Jacksonville, the Southside is considered to be the most prestigious part of Jacksonville. At the same time, South Jacksonville does have portions of ghetto (i.e. Arlington) mixed with upper-class. You have 2 major malls, University Of N. FL, SJTC and many of the city's employers in this part of the city. North Jacksonville is a combination of ghetto and filthy rich. The better parts of Northside are typically toward the airport. Westside is kind of the same as Southside, mostly historic, upper-middle to upperclass areas mixed in with the ghetto parts.

I've never been able to find an actual good side in Portland, Oregon. There are a few streets here and there that are more affluent, but this city is misleading about its portrayal. It has so many homeless and vagrants and hobo's and druggies, and those that don't seem to look after themselves properly. If I could find anywhere it would just be some sections of the West Hills, even then Homeless here and there. Alot of property crime and crimes associated with drugs in Portland.

I was told by some Philly natives that much of Center City in the city and the Main Line in the suburbs are the old money areas.

It is one of them but to a much lesser degree than Winter Park IMO.

Yeah, I always tended to compare the two to these Atlanta neighborhoods:
College Park = Druid Hills
Winter Park = Buckhead
