Some of the Big 12 basketball games, like the conference tournament, had commercials for Whataburger. Now, I happen to like Whataburger, being from Texas and all, but there's not one within, I'm guessing, 600 miles of Columbia, Missouri. And almost no one had even heard of the chain.

We used to get more TV ads for stuff out of St. Louis, but except for Cardinal games, not so much any more. I enjoy that rather raspy St. Louis accent. I can't describe it but I can pick it out.

Only problem with Stake & Shake is their fries. They're like toothpicks

Sonic, all the time in DC. Their closest location? 50 miles away.

I'm sure I could think of a dozen more and I'm not familiar enough with the Twin Cities enough to know if tthey have them but that's still 3 hours south.

I frequently hear radio ads for Canadian businesses. I live in Seattle, so naturally, some stations which carry Canadian programming will have them.

As for TV... I don't watch it.

We also get a lot of Golden Corral commercials here in Vegas, even though they are not located anywhere in Nevada. But based on their commercials, I don't think anyone is missing out- huge plates of seafood for 10 bucks doesn't exactly scream quality.

I've seen a lot of Dave and Buster's commercials here too, even though their website shows no Nevada locations. Kinda bummed about this one, since I used to work at their San Diego location and I think it's a fun place to go once in awhile.

Yes, Jack in the Box is a Western burger spot. We had a Golden Corral close by in Fulton, but it closed about 3 years ago. We have a Red Robin in Fayetteville and it's not bad.

BTW-I believe there is a Sonic in Binghamton, Kingston, New Windsor and in Wilkes-Barre PA now and and there are A&W's in the Syracuse area. We have the old drive in with the car hops in Cortland. Sonic is good and tried it when I was stationed in GA. A&W is good too.

We are getting Cici's soon in DeWitt and Cicero. We have plenty of Denny's and we had a Dairy Queen in the immediate area, but the only one in Upstate NY is in Oneonta now. There are a bunch close by in Ontario though.

No Dave and Buster's, as there really is no need for them with Tully's having a similar set up. http://www.tullysgoodtimes.com/Untitled%20Locations.html (broken link)

No Chick-Fil-A either. I wish we had Popeye's back though. No 7-Eleven's either.

Steak and shake is my favorite burger fastfood place. Even though its not the healthiest choice, they have great burgers (for fast food), and I like how they put all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickels, mayo, mustard) in a seperate container so you can put it on your burger the way you want it. The fries are thin and crispy but they are good, especially with that cheese dipping sauce they come with. and you can't forget to order a shake for your drink, instead of a soda.

I just had it last week for the first time in a long time, I forgot how good it was.
