Hi,

I am looking for a city/town with low humidity in the summer and some snow (not tons) in the winter. I would like a town where my 4 kids and I can walk to town and get an ice cream or latte. Of course it needs to be safe for the kids and a great hospital. I love Northampton MA, but can only afford $1000-1300: 4 bedroom/2bath. Any suggestions? I work from home so I can really move anywhere.

Thanks

Please don't suggest VA, can't wait to get out of here....just to religious

Well, Seattle and Portland have low humidity(non-existent compared to the East Coast-that's for sure) and not too much snow in the winter(at least that's my limited experience).

Otherwise, Coastal California has very very low humidity and lots of sun in the summer with almost no rain to speak of-Winters have no snow at all. By the looks of your post you want something smaller, Im not sure?

Oops...just noticed your East Coast preference! Okay, well then I don't know-its all pretty humid to me.

My guess is that along the east coast there is no such place. Remove that criteria and places in the Southwest would qualify.

Maybe something in the Albany NY area(Capital District) could work. That area actually gets about the same amount of snow on average as the Denver CO area(around 60-64 inches). There are some smaller cities in that area that might work like Glens Falls(actually has own metro), Ballston Spa, Cohoes, parts of Saratoga Springs and Scotia. You can check this out: MapsKrieg - Albany, NY - Apartments & Housing For Rent

Syracuse would possibly work, but we get a lot of snow. We have small towns/villages with a New England feel in the area too. You actually can find such communities throughout Upstate NY.

Glens Falls might specifically work: Search
Glens Falls, NY - Official Website
Glens Falls is full of things to do, delicious restaurants, and numerous places to shop for everyone in your family or friends.

Does the community have to be more liberal, as Northampton has that reputation?

To be honest, I'm stuck on this one. The humidity factor and the snow factor cuts off like half of the country.

Austin, Texas isn't humid like the way Houston is. I recommend that, but it gets hot.

I'm so lost on suggestions! Lol.
