I am a single, white, 26 yr old male relocating from Dallas/Ft. Worth,TX to Georgia. I currently do not have a job lined up already in Georgia, so I will be living with the folks in Fayetteville and working part-time as I continue looking for a full-time job.

Basically, as of right now, I am just trying to gather a list of places that are #1. Safe to live in, #2. Good Churches, #3. Lots of things to do, #4. Have a large amount of young adults

I am looking to rent an apartment. Probably somewhere in the $450-600 range (after I get a full-time job). As far as commuting work; I am OK with commuting or living in the same area as I work (so, that is a wash). So, it is probably safe to say that I will be looking for somewhat cheap places to live, but still would want that safety factor to be there.

Not sure if there are any other specifics that you need to help me out... as this is all I can really think of. Just looking to gather a good collection of cities/regions in which not only to live, but job search. Good churches will also be a huge factor for me, as I am looking to get into ministry.

Thanks for all of your help, and I will look forward to your responses!

I only had about 3 days to check it out when I was in town to visit my parents. Fayetteville seems like a very safe, beautiful place to be. However, my concern with that area is the lack of young, single individuals (such as myself) and things to go do.

I guess maybe a lot of the stuff might just be hidden behind all the trees GA has?

Yes, Fayette County is definitely more FAMILY oriented (greater percentage of married HH than anywhere else in the nation just about). You'd probably find more singles/young professionals/Christians in Cobb or North Fulton. I have a niece who goes to North Georgia College about an hour north of ATL and she has TONS of friends on that side of town just like you. There was a Hillsong concert Sunday night at a big mega Methodist church in Alpharetta. It is more crowded and expensive on that side of town but definitely more job opportunities as well.

Thanks for all the help! It's great to have someone's insight to the areas in GA, as I don't know anything about them!

I will definitely have to check out Cobb and/or North Fulton. Is Alpharetta also an area with a lot of singles/young professionals? Or do people normally just commute and work in Alpharetta because of the cost?

Somebody who lives up there would be better to answer that. Alpharetta is near the Sandy Springs / Perimeter Center business district which has tons of corporate headquarters, offices, retail, etc. Plus it's on the MARTA line so people go both ways commuting.

Newnan is a great place to live. There are a lot of churches in the newnan area and of course I love my church and think its the best of all churches, we have a great preacher and great potential for someone wanting to go into the ministry.

Ivonda,

What church do you go to? I would love to check it out on the internet, and maybe listen to a sermon or two! I hear that Newnan is a great area, but I hear the majority is young married couples. Is that true?
