Depends. There are a lot of variables and there is no simple way to get a ticket removed. I know some states have a deferral program, but GA is not one. What was the exact violation? If you were under 20mph, it's likely you can get the actual violation reduced in court, but you'll still be likely to pay the same fine. If you are that concerned about it, you can pony up the money for a lawyer and ask how much it will take to get rid of it completely. Like I said, there are a lot of ways a ticket can go depending on here it was, how fast you were going and how much you want to pay. I've been up and down this road and I can tell you it's always a different outcome. Recently I had a 17mph over ticket in DeKalb on Peachtree Ind. and when I went to court, I talked to the prosecutor/solicitor and simply asked if they would reduce it to 14mph over with the same fine because I didn't want the points on my record..they agreed and I plead guilty to 14mph over. You might be able to get the points removed from your record by going to driving school. You can only do it once every five years though, so pick your battle. You have to ask the judge if he would allow this.
Mine was in the 14 and under bracket and the payment place in rockdale said 14mph or less are not reported. The drivers handbook says the same. Im new to GA, so there may be more to this. Maybe some else can chime in.

Ugh, I hate that rule. Talk about an entitlement to speed. Maybe the next time I'm in a residential neighborhood, I'll set the cruise on 40.

I agree! I've never seen anything like this before. Everywhere I've ever lived, a speeding ticket is a point, or more. What were they thinking out here?
actually a 30 over ticket also may not be reported.
Dang, 30 over in Seattle(where I came from) would likely have one wearing handcuffs!
