It would be nice if people could actually speak the positives of an area without putting down others. I'll bite today.

Nicer than "crime infested Macon"...Maybe if you are straight white and Baptist. The Altamaha region of Georgia always has the highest unemployment of any region of Georgia. People commute to Warner Robins and Macon unless you dream of the Dollar General. More Confederate flags per capita than anywhere I have been. Back in 2015, CNN did an expo on Jeff Davis and Telfair county regarding the Religious Freedom Act that was proposed...all 5 flower shops said they would not serve gay people...flower shops...really? When called out, one owner said she would serve adulterers because it is "a different kind of sin". I wish the good people of McRae well, but I will stay in my so-called "crime-infested" downtown Macon where I can live life without the constructs of 1960s race and religion ideals, where I can shop at places nicer than the dollar general, eat at restaurants that dont deep fry everything, and where one can actually find a job.

Yes , by all means , stay in crime infested Macon . We don’t want your kind here. You seem to be the biased , racist kind

Anyone who quotes HuffPo and talks down to people to make their "point" ("where I can shop at places nicer than the dollar general, eat at restaurants that don't deep fry everything, and where one can actually find a job") isn't worth your time.

I was just responding in kind to the crime-ridden Macon part of the comment when discussing a town 90 miles away and you had to add that to somehow try to justify the pleasantness of McRae. Don't throw rocks if ricochets bother you. Biased and racist--not hardly, but ok--seems to be the off hand response of the times.

Of course throwing rocks at Macon from McRae would be like Macon attacking Atlanta. Not a fair fight or even remotely comparable places so in hindsight, I should have just chuckled and carried on.

Good day!
