Just saw on the news that Valdosta is working on a deal w/ an unamed company to bring a bio-energy research facility to valdosta, and 200 jobs.

It said a meeting is scheduled between rep. jack kingston & rep. sanford bishop and company executives to discuss details of an incentive package.

No other details are available, as these things are not discussed until a deal is finalized.

I was reading the notes from the last industrial authority meeting, and saw somewhere between 6-8 other projects the authority is working on with to bring new companies that are currently looking for a location into valdosta.

In somewhat old news, a property was recently rezoned to allow the building of a biomass plant in the county. Construction is expected to start this fall.

Valdosta seems to be an economic bright spot in the state of Georgia. Will be intresting to see how fast Valdosta continues to grow and prosper in the coming years!
