WOW 30to66at55 ! You are right on! The parasite class is ruining America. The mega wealthy wiggle out of taxes but it is the working people who pulled themselves up by their own bootstaps paying for the parasites as they crank out kid after kid, husband optional.

I ended up divorced, with no real skills, and I went to nursing school on Pell Grants, then student loans which I repaid. And I ended up as a ICU nurse making $100,000+ a year by working my Moderator cut: language. Its possible. Anyone in America can do it.

Welfare is an economic stabilizer. For the sake of my post, welfare is unemployment, social security, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc.

Opinionated- social security, medicare are not welfare. Working people paid into that with every paycheck. Medicaid, now, that is free heathcare for ner do wells, at huge, HUGE expense. Why should they take care of their health? The taxpayers will bail them out.

The more I grow in my wealth and learn in life, the more things I come to dislike things about the poor. It seems like all the horrible things I've been told since childhood about the wealthy are lies. They are some of the nicest most giving people I've ever met. And I've always behaved like them. I think poverty begins in the mind. If you believe you will always be that way, then that's how you will act.

Seriously, part of the problem with health care expenditures in this country is that nurses (some who are only two year RN's) can make over a $100,000 a year. It shows me how out-of-whack the health care industry is compared to the rest of the country.

Aside from that, if you make a 100K a year after a couple of years of training you are the exception. I wish people like this would stop with this crap that "anyone can do it". Everyone can't do it that easily. Otherwise, they would.

I'd figure that most of the taxpayers who support the "poor" in this country have none of the above, and can't afford the things that some of those "poor" believe they are entitled to.

This has been an interesting thread but it has gotten to the point that it has deteriorated and most of the recent posts have had to be edited or deleted.
