Irrelevant. Birth rates have been declining in every western country. Japan, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, and Singapore all have fertility rates at or below 1.4.

The scientific community refutes the idea that marijuana use leads to harder drug use. You could say that because marijuana users have to resort to the black market they have more exposure to hard drugs, but simply using marijuana does not increase your desire to use hard drugs.

If you made marijuana and other drugs legal, and sold it legally and safely, you would make a case for a large reduction in juvenile gangs, which is the #1 population demographic of our prison system. Take their ability to earn money illegally and their numbers will decrease.

I also feel that a revisit of the laws is in order, too many of our youth are getting recycled over and over through the system with no rehabilitation effectiveness.
