I'm shocked. He's being charged only with first-degree assault and some gun charges. I understand this is the Holder & Obama America that the American people elected. But is this the America we want? I'm ashamed of this country right now.

What should he be charged with? Are you a DA who knows the case and evidence better?

Of course that may change but even then Agg. Assault on a police officer could care a life sentence. In fact likely without having to prove he intended to murder the police; this can carry about the same sentence in end in most states.

I think it's just odd. It's like they are scarred of doing anything to aggravate the lynch mob even more.

Has ever occurred to you that they might not be sure that they even have the right guy and took this as plea deal?

In addition to attempted murder, I'd charge him with terrorism too because that's what he did.

Don't worry. When he gets into the prison system I feel pretty confident the Brothers in Law Enforcement of the two wounded cops will exact a little justice every day on this shooter ! Funny things happen behind those prison walls sometimes in the middle of the night.

Police have a very special way of looking out for each other.

He should be charged with attempted murder.
I wrote this in another thread. If you pull a gun and squeeze that trigger you should expect that person at the other end to die. If he had a beef with someone at the protest and tried to shoot them, he tried to kill them.

Police are responsible for every bullet they fire. A target shooter is responsible for what is behind his target jsut as a hunter is responsible for knowing what he is shooting at and what is behind it. A bullet can travel and still be deadly up to a mile away or more.
Oh wait, all the lawabiding shooters out there already know this.. This gangbanger didn't care about the rules or laws when he shot his gun into the crowd. He could have easily hit a child.
Personally I don't believe the story. He must have been an idiot to try and settle the beef right in front of the police station with a crowd of witnesses. How dumb is that.
He should be had up on attempted murder charges.

It's just a story. Police/prosecutors are not buying it.
