It has only been since 1800 that there have been more than ONE BILLION people on the planet. How do you expect to keep feeding them? Are you saying it doesn't matter who starves as long as it is OK in your vicinity?

They are already talking about fish migrating from the equator because it is too warm.

What I am saying, it really doesn't matter what steps we take to limit CO2 in the atmosphere, warming is going to happen. It's true that we as humans seems to have accelerated the process, but no one really know just how fast we have done this. In the end, the planet will be ice free again, one thing you can be sure of, if it has happened once in nature, it will happen again and again.

What will happen to New York, well, it will get a lot smaller, people are just going to have to adapt to a changing world, that does change from time to time. Either we adapt or we go the way of the Mammoth, Saber Tooth Tiger and others that have gone extinct. You see, the planet really doesn't give a damn one way or the other as to who inhabits it, it will do as it has done for the last 4 billion years and anything that is done is just a "band-aid". With or without humans, the planet will take care of itself.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't do nothing, this is our ONLY home and we need to take care of it because there is no one going to come to our rescue except us. We need clean air to breath and clean water to survive, without those we and all other life on this planet are really doomed.

We need to be accountable for our way of living.

We need to leave the world a better place for our future generations.

We need to belong to the memes that help humanity not hurt it. We are all connected, all living things on earth.

Lets take care of the life on earth, the earth will be here long after we are gone from it.

Take care of life, don't be a parasite. Don't kill off everything that comes near you.

It is very simple.

You grew up with resources and YOU should ensure future generations can enjoy those resources you enjoyed.

That is sustainability.

If you grew up fishing from a river, then is it fair that you fish all the fish out and dam the river, killing the ecosystem. You are ok with future generations not having that privilege?

It is not that hard.
