Did you read about the Great Burmese Python hunt last year(or 2013)? I think about 1,500 people went hunting and only nabbed 68 pythons in a week. They are out there but not easy to find. The $$$ offered was puny($1,500 for largest and most). I'd think if some animal preservation groups or a rich person would up the reward to $100,000 or more they might have more success.
Eradicated? Well, not from Burma - and wherever else it naturally ranges.
From Florida? Absolutely. Invasive species are a detriment, and should be eradicated, though I know all the popular ones never will be - such as pheasants (native to Asia), brown trout (native to Europe), the like.
Of course, how to do the eradicating is a whole 'nother ball of wax. Often, it is not practical or even possible.

Well, good quality, well cured snake hides, that large, should bring some pretty good coin .
You must work for the tourism in Florida, or Real Estate. Truth is, this invasive killer is spreading north in Florida. Fish and Wildlife employees are told to downplay what is happening in Florida. Pythons have been captured and seen as far north as Stuart and the Tampa area. I used to live in Florida, and it's bad enough residents can't really enjoy the lakes, rivers, etc because of gators, now Pythons are killing/eating the gators. One female Python can lay up to 100 eggs, even if only 1/3 survive, we're talking thousands of Pythons in 2016. It's not a state I want to live in. This is "The snake that is eating Florida."

You can thank all the people that buy giant snakes and then say "oops, it's too big so I'm gonna go release it."
Morons.
I'm a former snake owner and that's exactly why I never bought a burmese...
