I wouldn't underestimate the ability of the United States to cause havoc on world trade with its Navy. The United States a network of more than 1,000 military bases. I would guess the Pentagon has the plans and ability to shut down critical water ways around the world. Straight of Hormuz, straight of Malacca. Who can dislodge the American Navy from these locations? Specifically, its carriers and submarine fleets.
No one could while the US Navy was able to continue operations.
As I said, in USA vs the world, we'd become economically isolated and in fairly short order, all those Naval assets would be brought home due to lack of resources to continue their missions. A navy is an extremely expensive proposition. One that country going broke could no longer afford.
In an all out War with America vs. the rest of the world the likeliest result is most everyone is dead within a week from nuclear destruction of all the cities. The rest die of famine or radiation within a year or so. The Four Horsemen would ride and civilization would end. That would indeed be unfortunate. Unless you believe that the WAR is inevitable and needed to raise all the faithful to Heaven and plunge the sinners into Hell. That result is the least likely of all.
FWIW - Ape would annoy walrus until the fight went into the water. Then the sharks would win.
Frankly the topic reminds me of one of a grade school argument tantamount to my dad can beat your dad and such. Frankly in a "all out war" with the entire rest of the world there wouldn't be any winners, because it would ultimately conclude with nuclear exchanges across at least three continents. The U.S. nuclear arsenal vs., Russia, China, North Korea, Pakistan, India, Great Britain, France and perhaps Israel. So ultimately it is a silly conversation.
We could win for a while though our economy would definitely faulter due to our trade treaty's being scrapped. The arms industry would be the ones keeping us with jobs.
I think General Trump would lead his men into battle with Mexico and Ted Cruz could handle Canada. We would need to build barriers on coastlines to prevent land invasions, have nationwide drills and conduct massive military expansion while initiating the draft.
The United States can never be militarily defeated -- IF we have the will to win.
Consider the absolutely appalling level of violence and destruction we visited upon Germany and Japan in World War II. Now consider Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. In those latter conflicts, we fought with at least one arm tied around our backs. If we were truly and seriously bent on pounding those countries into submission, then Seoul, Saigon, Kabul, and Baghdad would be nothing more than mounds of smouldering ruins. But the American people would not tolerate our military inflicting that level of destruction against enemies that were not seen as directly threatening our way of life, as Germany and Japan were seen.
In an absolutely worst-case scenario, when every country in the world is against us and Canada and Mexico openly allow their countries to be used as staging areas for the worldwide invasion of the United States, there's no denying that things would get ugly in a hurry, for all concerned (including us). But we would also see every major capital city worldwide reduced to radioactive embers before we allowed ourselves to be conquered.
This is so true. If America became isolated and the enemy of the world with several nations set on invasion I wonder how many politicians and their followers would want to give up without firing a shot?
There is no doubt that Mexico and Canada would be used as staging areas for invasion. In WW2 England was saved by the English channel. If Germany had an area to land freely and stock pile troops and supplies England would have fallen.
If this America Vs the World scenario was to happen we better hope we had a strong President in office that would lead us and be able to make the tough decisions.
