yep, and it's generally accepted that in order to achieve any level of security with armed guards in schools you would need 1 guard per 1000 students.
Broward County Sheriff promised AR-15 armed guards at the schools Monday. There are 310 schools in the district. 271,000 students if you work that way.
310 x $15 x 8 is $37,200 per day. For real effectiveness this would be two shifts per day.
160 school days, = $11,900,000 per year. plus 310 guard shacks with metal detectors . . .? "Just saying"
I do not see how militarizing the school system with what are basically mercenaries and vigilante militias will do anything but create problems. Who is this 'militia' accountable to?

That worked out well in Florida? I've noticed a trend. Shooters go unapposed until they have killed numerous innocents. Believe it or not, teachers can be saviors and survivors when theirs and their students asses are on the line. Also, it is possible many are as well trained with a gun as any police officer. It is ridiculous to stereotype teachers incompetent as defenders. The one thing worse than a teacher pulling a gun and shooting at a threat is a teacher with no possible chance to save his students or self. You like many, reflect the nonsensical ideology that only government officers can effectively use a gun for defense. Very sad.
And, asking teachers to be amateur cops is putting on them a huge liability. I suggest raising those teachers' pay by the same amount it would cost to hire a cop. In other words, just hire a cop.
I'm going to guess he's either not going to respond to you or will suggest what we all know the left REALLY wants ...the ban and confiscation of all firearms.

Guard duty as an eight hour one person shift does not work. Guard duty for two guards per day leaves the school vulnerable to attack on days off and illness events. "Personnel matters are complicated"
Leave the logistics aside. Its psychologically striking a fear on criminals minds. Majority of normal People behave differently when they know someone is watching, let alone criminals. ALso they aren't governed like Police and do not have to worry about political correctness or backlash.
