Tell me why they shouldn't forgive the student loan debts of nurses and doctors after this.
Who is this “we?”

I think they should get hazard pay. And I think they should have automatic life insurance policies, and generous sick leave.

And they are currently soldiers in the front line of a war. We give free education to the armed forces...

Nope..............first it isn't fair to the drs/nurses that have no student loan debt
2nd- it is the career they chose
3rd- how many non drs/nurses are getting infected in their jobs? Fire/police/prison guards?

NY had 9/11.......so would that entitle every firefighter in America to reduced student loans?

In the case of Drs, would NY issues entitle Los Angeles plastic surgeons to forgiven debt too?

9/11 entitled fire fighters, police and ems to cancer. Covid-19 is entitling hospital workers to Covid-19... We can surely do better than that.

Nice dodge..........I said NY had 9/11 so would that entitle all US firefighters/paramedics to loan forgiving?

Your whole premise is drs/nurses getting loans forgiven (Nationwide) yet the nation isn't having an issue.

So the taxpayers end up with the burden of all the forgiven federal student loan debt? That money has to be recouped somehow. I understand those in the medical field are working very hard and taking a big risk, but they are still drawing a paycheck. And while I have a great respect for anyone who puts themselves in harms way for a living, I also know that they chose their respective fields. Should we also forgive their home and car loans as well? Give them free utilities?

P.S. The GI bill is for those who have served their country. You can't compare going to war (or the possibility of) to working in a civilian hospital. In health care you can quit and walk away.

Many are saying this is a war whether it is the media, politicians or hospital workers themselves.

A war that can be fought without risking getting blown up or shot at on a daily basis... Health care workers are are taking every precaution to avoid getting the virus. I'd be willing to bet when all is said and done their mortality rate will be significantly lower than that of the average soldier.

Depends, the rate of infection with doctors is very very high and the death rate is pretty high too. Mainly due to the one procedure that they have to do to put a tube in the lung puts them extremely at risk of contraction. Add in lack of PPE and it creates a bigger problem.

You asked what 9/11 entitled them to, I answered. You don't have to like the answer but it is an answer. But no, they didn't. That said, they didn't.
