Doctors and nurses are being sent to potentially die due to constant exposure and lack of PPE to protect themselves and seeing constant death by not the day but the hour. This is a war and many are breaking whether it is getting sick and dying, getting fired for speaking out or using their own stock off mask or quitting due to unsafe work conditions. Tell me why they shouldn't forgive the student loan debts of nurses and doctors after this.

Because they are the demographic that least needs the loans forgiven. And it's an inconsistent way to 'reward" hazardous duty as many of the docs on the front lines may have no student loans to forgive while many of the docs that do are on the sidelines right now.

This looks like another weak attempt to capitalize on a crisis to push an agenda. I'll bet those calling on student loan forgiveness for docs were calling for student loan forgiveness long before this pandemic.

Even doctors that do boob and nose jobs?
And make hundred of thousands, if not a over a MILLION a year??
Hilarious.

No. They make very good salaries and can pay back their loans.

You can't keep paying it down if they contract the virus...

Weak counter. The virus lasts 2-3 weeks. They are likely salary with excellent benefits. If they don't survive it, the student loan can be forgiven.

Give it up. Liberals aren't going to have any luck in the pathetic attempt to capitalize on a crisis to push an agenda.

There are other essential workers being exposed, not just doctors and nurses. What about them?

I'd honestly be more inclined to forgive student loan debt for EMT workers, who are vastly underpaid as is IMO.

I disagree.

Anyone who goes into nursing or any medical field, KNOWS there is a risk of catching a disease.

Period, full stop.

They'd be happy, at this point, to have adequate PPE to protect themselves AND others against infectious diseases.

Nobody is talking about how other healthcare workers are risking their lives in hospitals right now.

It's not "ONLY" doctors and nurses.
