i don't think his ultimate goal was to destabilize American life, it was to destabilize the american empire and its rulers! in that he has been an abject failure. with every suicide bomber the executive in dc assumes more power and that plays right into the hands of the people he is fighting
One can never do anything to harm those who can pass their losses on to somebody else. It's the wage-earning consumers at the bottom of the food chain who are invariably the victims of every downturn.
One of the risks of living in a free society, is that you might freely be killed.
People should remember that, the next time we are attacked by terrorists.
In the past ten years, for every person killed by a terrorist in the US, dozens have been killed by drunk drivers. And maybe a thousand killed by obesity and unhealthful diet.

Exactly right. People over react when these things happen.
What ever happened to "Give me liberty, or give me death!"
We can't just give liberty to those who will use it well. You either give it to none or all. When someone breaks the rules, and their liberty is taken away you either lock them up, or kill them.
Taking away my rights, liberties, and ruining my pursuit of happiness just so that I might be a smidge safer, no thanks.

So your suggesting we add to the terrorist list or what?

i think this accurately represents the fragility of our freedom. what puzzles me is that we never seem to take into account how many lives were lost to preserve our liberty. we only seem to want to take into account the lives lost because of it!
this is not to suggest that 911 was an inside job, but rather to point out that in order to further centralise power all an administration has to do is make us fearful. we will then gladly hand over what is left of our precious liberty

Makes you wonder what will happen if/when terrorists get a nuclear weapon and use it.

. . . and they will never give it back.
