A famous artist once said:

The meaning of life:

1 - experience and learn as much as you can as you go about your business
2 - do unto others as you would like them to do unto you

that's basically it

they might have worn different clothes in past decades, but it's really the same game we've been playing all of these years...different faces different styles same game

-for those wanting to repeat "all you need is love", that easily fits into #2

any other ideas that don't fit into the above guidelines?

Did you contribute to the world? Have you loved and have you been loved? That is all that really matters.

Silly question...

The Meaning of Life is to Discover the Ultimate Question,,, The Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

We already know the answer {"42"}.

However - and please, with due care note the following - IF we do find the Question, and since we already have the answer, once we discover the Question, life as we know it will cease to exist in this Universe... all to be replaced by a new, and possibly even weirder version.

Of course, with the happenings documented here, gotta kinda wonder if our predecessors hadn't already discovered both Question and Answer years earlier...

"Human life must be some form of mistake."
-Arthur Schopenhauer

Man is a disease. As Schopenhauer once declared, man's existence must be a mistake. He is a germ who thinks himself a king. To any problem, there is only one cause: man, and only one cure: annihilation. That this truth is ignored, mocked and despised is staunch proof of its character.

If you truly believe that, why on earth haven't you killed yourself?

As for the meaning of life? There is none, other than what meaning you choose to give it.

"from hour to hour we ripe and ripe, then from hour to hour we rot and rot., life is as tedious as a twice told tale, that struts and frets upon the stage, a life full of sound and fury..signifying nothing.."

There is no meaning to life, we trick ourselves to waste time until the inevitable.

I'm not going to reveal my private life by explaining why I am still here.

But I agree with you that there's no meaning of life. We enjoy a few things in our lifes, but that is far from meaning of life.
