Yes, no question public schools today are the main source of the contamination. So then the question becomes..how is it that the mission of the public schools was allowed to go so far astray?

It only takes a moment or two of reflection to get the real problem into focus. And that is apathy. Parents of the 50s and 60s would have never stood for this crap - not on your life. But that was before the straight jacket of political correctness was fastened around us. Now far too many people don't think they can do anything about anything, so they've given up trying.

So many of today's societal ills can be traced to political correctness that it would be a challenge to come up with one that can't.

This was a news item on Cleveland Fox 8 news a few weeks ago. It's true.

I don't have a link. It was a news item on Cleveland Fox 8 news a few weeks ago. I don't know if it's in effect now or not but it's coming. Seems like it would take some time to set up and supply the containers with the chip to be scanned.
I dont live in Cleveland so it doesn't affect me but it just shows the total control and tracking of peoples lives and activities that's coming to our society one little step at a time.
According to the Fox 8 report, this wasn't something just being considered. It was going to be implemented.

Ok, if you google Cleveland Recycling laws, you will find links to it that explain it much better than I did.

Cleveland Ohio passed a law a couple months ago that is mandatory. And they are providing special containers with electronic chips in them that can be scanned that tell them how many times a month the container is full enough to empty. If it hasn't had enough material to be emptied each month if is a $100.00 fine.
That is too much big brother control to suit me.
Thats totally insane & local govt controlling its people. Politicians are quite unpopular & its only going to get worse for us.

That doesn't make sense?? What about vacations or people tht have jobs that require travel? How can a can a chip sense weight or volume and how much does it cost?? Can you post the link?

There are many people that will not recycle without enforcement and could care less. You will end up paying for people that don't recycle in solid waste fees if you choose not to enforce recycling.

The East Coast cities are completely different and without some form of enforcement( they have not gone to that extent yet)
Read this:

A galling fine for an avid recycler in Philly

Of all the trash bags on all the streets in all the city, they rummaged through his.

And then, they gave him a ticket for not recycling.

The city I live by now had a recycle type trash pickup going on several years ago. They all had us to recycle into the proper bags and then........
THEY had it picked up and part of it went into the land fill because they couldn't get enough money for what was separated out by us!!!!! But we still had to separate out the stuff. It was suddenly ended when it came out on the news that they were just dumping it in with the rest of the trash going to the land fill.

I would pay a group of kids to swap trash and recycling containers, being sure to have the town council members "lose" recyclables and get fined.

I'm glad to note that many people are now coming to grips with what I've said for YEARS, that recycling is just another tax and method of control.
