If I may ask, why did you get 6 volt batteries as opposed to 12 volt???

What is the Watt-hour rating of your system???

How many amps does you solar-panels put out.

They are cheaper and the metal plates are thicker.

135watts x 12 = 1620 watt system

912 amps

Hope that helps.

Nice...........but......I think your system DOES NOT put out 912 amps.....that would be an insanely colossal amount of energy.

That would make your system over 10 Kilowatts.

You are right. Sorry...I misheard hubby. He says it is @ 90 amps.

Hmm... That is about 1kW (at 12V)....

I guess I won't be going off the grid anytime soon; I average 3.3kW consumption every hour of every day. (And I have a solar home, and wood stoves, all CFL lighting. and a geothermal pump).

Nice Brah, must be a sweet system.

Give hubby a whack and tell him to speak more clearly.

It is really cheap and easy to make a system that will partially cover your energy needs. If you have a fairly secure yard and a little extra space, you can easily mount quite a few panels onto a simple table-like structure that is positioned to get maximum sunlight......some batteries, charge controller cables, inverter......few other things and you are all set.
