What alternatives are there to using Roundup for weed killing? I've got tons of weeds I can't seem to keep up with both on my walk and in my landscaping.

Salt. I used salt the other day to get rid of ants near my patio, and a side effect was it killed all the weeds on the edges of the patio.
Mulch works only after you've gotten the weeds under control imo

Salt will kill the soil too. I guess that's ok if you never want a plant to grow in that spot ever again.

I agree that the weeds will only make their way though the mulch.

I didn't know that salt alone worked, though. I'd read something about salt, white vinegar and dish washing liquid.

Jan how do you apply the salt? Mixed with water in a spray bottle?
