I rent a very small house in a suburban town. I work from home full time in my home office, and I'm the biggest electricity user in the household, with two computers, printer, window AC and space heater, chargers, lights, etc.
I was wondering how feasible it would be to hook up one or two solar panels to offset my daytime power use. Is it possible to buy a panel, mount it in a sunny part of the yard, and have an electrician splice into the power circuit, all for under $1000?
The lawn gets about 6-7 hours of sunlight. I've seen other lawn-mounted solar panels around the town so probably there are contractors who will do it.
