We won't question Hansen's qualifications as a climatologist, but he's apparently rather ill informed on matters of botany & ecology. We're presently at 410ppm with no apparent ill effects from it and many positive benefits in regards increased ag yields and increased forestation and all the ecological benefits that accrue with that. Severity of hurricanes, number of tornadoes and number/total area of wildfires are all lower now than they were 30 y/a when was [co2] 370ppm.

EVERY prediction made by warmists 30 y/a have proven to be wrong now. Isn't it time to give up on that as a scientific theory and recognize it for what it was originally intended to be: a means to a political/economic end?

I support clean energy. No, Hansen is not a climatologist. He is a self serving charlatan. He's done a lot of damage with his false claims.

Actually things are much worse than the predictions and there no discernible benefit from the higher CO2 level.

"A new study by a “group of mean reactionary science purists” at the Journal Nature Climate Change took a look at 117 of the Left’s wild claims. Its results are devastating for Gore and the Left. They show that 114, or 97.4%, of them were wrong. They weren’t just a little “ooops, I hit the wrong number on my computer – wrong but wrong by a you – don’t – know what – in- the – world – you’re –are talking – about” wrong. The average “mistake” was an overstatement of global warming by double actual reality."

Global warming predictions proven wrong 97.4% of the time

Al Gore is not a scientist. His views are interesting, but we need to be guided by the science. The science is telling us we are headed for problems if we don't control the increase in GHG.

The paid mouthpieces of the fossil fuel industry take exception. WOW That's a surprise.

Scientists rarely have a voice in MainStreamMedia, it is the politicians who often try to lead the bandwagon for causes.

In this cause it is politicians who are claiming the scientists have formed consensus. Which in itself is a rare occurance.

I am reminded of: 'The rain follows the plow'.

Read the statements of AAAS and National Academy of Science. These are not organizations staffed with politicians.

Agree. That's why we need real solutions like nuclear fission/fusion instead of symbolic half-assed efforts like solar and wind. Wind and solar lock us into dependency on natural gas for backup generation.
