I didn't realize that the Civic Hybrid dates back to 2003 until yesterday - I thought it came out in 2007 or so. Since even the 03 ones get 43 mpg and put out half the pollution of most cars I am seriously consider getting a used one in the next year depending on it's reliability and repair cost - that's where y'all come in

Has anyone owned a 2003/06 Honda Civic Hybrid and if so is it as reliable and cheap to repair as a regular one?

My dad has one. An '07. He looooves it. I think it actually inspired him to vote democratic.

But seriously, he gets awesome gas millage, especially on long trips, as you would assume. Additionally, he just enjoys driving it. It was peppier than he expected and is just a nice car all around! (Having driven it once, I agree. Having also spent a lot of time as a passenger, I can say the back seat is very roomy!) It also feels very safe. He hasn't had any problems yet, though you probably wouldn't expect any so soon. But Hondas in general are relatively reliable cars. I would consider buying one if I had needed a new car and had the money.
