I have to agree with nubiannurse. I'm new to Gboro and went to Stephanie's II (not drive through) and the food was just as good as the southern style food in ATL. If you're in the mood for some candied yams or mac and cheese, that's the place to go.
Used to be a church basement over in A&T neighborhood that served lunch. Really, really good down-home stuff. Meat loaf, fried fish, gravy, greens, etc. Tasty stuff. No idea if it is still operating and I haven't been in G'boro for several years, thought hopes of moving back brought me to reading forum again recently.
Haybles hearth relocated. It is on High Point Rd area now but still the same country cooking!
