Charlotte is a very diverse city and racial tension is basically non-existent. Bigger cities mean more crime but also means more amenities and opportunities.....
If you like the mountains, W-S, if you like the beach, Raleigh.
W-S hands down for me.
Too many people in Raliegh, tryin to hard. Comes across as fake
Thanks for the information on W-S. I will have to admitt, it has not been easy to obtain information on this particular city. Maybe it is just not that exciting. Do you live in W-S? I was intially looking for a comparison between Raleigh and W-S. On paper W-S seems nicer but lacking in some areas such as shopping, restaurants cultural activities etc. How does the weather compare between the two cities?
Yet Charlotte's crime rate actually is higher than Raleigh's. It's not just perception.
Several things were stated in the post that The Man From Utopia responded to, so I'm not sure that he was responding to the statement about crime in particular when he talked about extreme exaggerations.
Jobs are really plentiful in Winston-Salem to be honest. You don't have to know someone to get a job (I didn't know anyone at the job I work at) and most employers are friendly toward new applicants.
