We'll be checking TJ's out soon (after the initial crowds dissipate). Used to shop there time to time when I lived in San Diego 20 years ago or so. When they opened in Raleigh, we'd stop there when making a Costco run when we lived in Greenville.
Went to Trader Joe's a couple days ago! Excellent source of beer and wine! =) A box full of wine was about $35. So far, the taste has been absolutely delicious! They have great deals on some things, not so great on others. Great source of organic and glutton free products, not so great for sugar or condiments. Overall, definitely a place we'll keep coming back to! They rang the bell for us because we were newlyweds and first time customers! My wife got a free dozen of roses! =) Fun place to go!

Can anyone tell me if the crowds have thinned out a little bit since the big opening? Obviously it will be busier on the weekend, especially for a while, but if you went on a Wednesday or Thursday night, I'm wondering how busy it is.
I've been to the ones in Cary, Chapel Hill and Charlotte (the one on Mallard Creek Church Road near UNCC). The ones in Charlotte and Cary were a little busy but not unpleasantly so. The one in Chapel Hill was a madhouse. I'm imagining the one in Winston-Salem will be a busy location, since it will be drawing traffic from all over the Triad plus points north and west.
I would venture to guess a weekday would be less crowded followed by a weekday night, but I don't think it is luring people from all over as you suspect. We were in the area two weeks ago and while the parking lot was crowded, it wasn't full and no law enforcement needed to direct traffic.
I have been a number of times now and I haven't had to wait in line at check out. There are people to dodge here and there, but not too bad. The amount of shoppers reminds me of Costco on a Saturday.
