I'm looking to get my two girls, aged 5 and 6, in some swimming lessons this fall. My 6 year old has really enjoyed getting into the pool and doing water play this summer while my 5 year old has tolerated the pool a little, but doesn't like getting her hair wet. I don't think she is going to take to swimming as well as my 6 year old. I'm trying to decide between lessons at the Aquatic Center or the Spears Family YMCA. In reading the descriptions of the classes, the Aquatic Center sessions are 8 classes versus 6 classes per session at the Y, while the Aquatic Center seems to move at a slower pace versus the Y that would appear to have them swimming within the first group of classes. Both groups sessions are about the same price. Anyone have any experiences with either of these places or prefer one to the other?

Nobody ever wrote a song about the G-A-C, if that helps.

Sorry...don't have any experience with either.

I was not happy with the Spears Y. I felt like my child spent most of the time sitting on the edge of the pool watching the other kids. I thought there were too many kids in the group lessons. And spending any time at all at that indoor pool will cause eye and throat soreness. I can't handle being in that pool.

Besides GSA at the Aquatic center, there is also Star Aquatics you may want to check out.
