I was recently offered a job in Greensboro with pay lower than I've made in over 5 years here in Arizona. So I'm curious what a middle class hourly rate would be in Greensboro? In Arizona I'm currently making $34 an hour
I'm thinking ~$20-$30 per hour would be considered "middle class" hourly rate in the Triad...that's around $40k to $60k per year.
Depending on the area of Arizona you'd be coming from, I'm guessing cost of living would be similar to moderately less in the Triad. The biggest factor is the cost of housing - OP, what's the average home cost or apartment rent where you're located?
Thank you my offer in Greensboro was for 45K. We have learned that we can get more home out there. We have been browsing zillow and in our current situation we can get a bigger house that's updated with land there. But you answered my question so Thank you!

That's a pretty hefty pay cut IMO. Be sure to research thoroughly as this state nickels and dimes you with taxes and fees. What may appear cheaper can be the opposite.
At $34/hr., the annual salary would be around $68,000. You didn't mention where in Arizona you are, but assuming it's Phoenix, to have the same standard of living in Greensboro, your salary would need to be $61,296 according to the source below:

So the salary could be less, but not $23,000 a year less to be equivalent if the above is correct.

I don't know where those results are from, but home prices are almost $100,000 less in Greensboro than Phoenix.

It doesn't just look at housing. It also analyzes food, utilities, transportation, health, and miscellaneous costs. But to your point, the biggest gap in those ratings was housing (with housing being Phoenix's most expensive attribute of those categories and housing being the least expensive attribute of the categories in Greensboro).
In fact, the explanation says that housing is 35% cheaper in Greensboro, but other items (i.e. food, utilities, health, and miscellaneous expenses) costed more in Greensboro, so all of those items are factored into the estimate.

Uh, Zillow says median home price in Phoenix is $178,500 and $126,300 in G'boro. That's NOT $100,000.
