Could have 10 to 12 trains operating from 4AM to 9AM. Then have 6 to 8 trains from 9AM to 4PM. Then 4 from 4PM to 9PM have 10 to 12 trains again. Then 4 to 6 trains from 9PM to 3AM Monday though Friday.

At Lexington a line from Kernersville to Winston-Salem to Welcome to Lexington connects with line from Greensboro (Line only runs Monday through Friday 4AM to 9AM and 4PM to 9PM with one train). From Lexington to Salisbury to China Grove to Kannapolis to Concord to Harrisburg to Charlotte.

Then the Durham line would be Winston-Salem, Kernersville, High Point, Greensboro, Jamestown, Whitsett, Burlington, Mebane, Hillsborough, and Chapel Hill.

Create a limited branch from Winston-Salem to Clemmons to Mocksville to Statesville to Troutman to Mooresville to Mount Mourne to Davidson. Operating Monday though Friday 4AM to 9AM and 4PM to 9PM with two trains running.

From Davidson to Cornelius to Caldwell to Huntersville to Charlotte.

Then a light rail in Charlotte that connects to Gastonia and Monroe. Then up to SC to connect rail or BRT to Monroe or Pineville.

Light rail connecting Durham/Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Hillsborough/Suburbs.

Limited stops/express bus connecting Guilford Randleman, Rockingham, and Alamance counties to downtown areas, hospitals, malls, and train stations. Every hour from S-Sa from 8AM to 8PM.

Limited stops/express bus connecting Forsyth and Stokes County to downtown areas, hospitals, malls, and train stations. Every hour from S-Sa from 8AM to 8PM.

University shuttles for Winston-Salem, High Point, and Greensboro from the train/bus depot.

Then a weekend shuttle from Gastonia to the new casino in King's Mountain during the Fall and Spring. Then a shuttle from Asheville to the casino in Cherokee in the Fall and Spring. Opposite weekends.

Shuttle from Mebane station to the outlets on every Saturday. Runs 30 minutes 9AM to 6PM.

Then a weekend train that leaves Durham at 6AM, Greensboro at 8AM, and Charlotte at 10AM to Asheville. Leaves Asheville at 8PM Saturday, 8AM Sunday, and Sunday 8PM. With limited service during the Winter.

Train to Wilmington weekend train leaves Charlotte at 6AM, Greensboro at 8AM, and Durham at 10AM. Leaves Raleigh at 10AM though. Only comes back at 8PM Saturday & Sunday. From April to August.

Next section from US-311 to NC-66 (University Parkway) is expected to open on November 7.

I wonder how long until it goes the remaining few hundred yards to the highway. I assume probably not until early next year at the earliest... but that bypass once done may make getting to VA a little easier.

I somehow managed to read the story on that awful website with all its jumping around and crashing my phone’s browser numerous times. I learned it is expected to connect to 52 in the summer of 2023.

Late Summer At least they had the foresight to build this eastern section with six lanes.

Beginning Feb. 20, parts of Old Winston Road and Oak Grove Church Road will be permanently closed.
