Any recommendations on a good casual lunch spot in Greensboro? Not somewhere you would necessarily take a date, just a regular Saturday lunch. Nothing particularly fancy, but nowhere that I would be among the riff-raff Places that I have never been, but popped in my head include, Kau, Scrambled, BItes and Pints, Lindley Filling Station, Freeman's Grub & Pub, Fishbones ..
A favorite of mine for a no-frills lunch is Brown Gardiner on Elm Street near Cornwallis. Old-school soda fountain where you're much more likely to be among blue hairs than riff raff. Make sure to get a cherry Coke - it's mixed with their own cherry syrup.
I've been to all of those and I think they fit your criteria. (I don't know your definition of "riff raff" so don't be mad at me if you see some.)I especially like Freeman's and Fishbones. Have you looked at "Cille and 'Score downtown? It's my new favorite spot.
I've looked at them, considered it, and it's on my list of places to try. I'm wavering between going somewhere new, and going somewhere that's one of my personal favorites. Most likely won't go downtown for this lunch, probably somewhere with an easier parking situation.

I've been there before, many years ago. I need to visit them again soon.

I get that. I have favorites that I KNOW I'm going to like, so I tend to go back.
Kau is good too. I've been several times but not lately. There's plenty of parking.
Definitely think Kau would be perfect for you, since it very close to downtown and has oodles of parking spaces .. Char 7 is also one of my go to spots. It's located at tr intersection of Lawndale in the Fresh Market shopping strip!
Yes - I've been a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I'm no wine expert, but they seem to have a good selection. Last time I went, I got a wine flight and a dessert. Good place to go with a smaller group - it's a relaxed vibe and you can stay and talk for a while.

Thanks. Looking for a place to go before a show. I guess it shouldn't be too crowded in the late afternoon on a Saturday.
