Goodness!! Getting settled in my new city and first impression is this city likes it’s speed bumps!! The ones in the parking lot at the Harris-Teeter at New Garden and Horse rd are teeth jarring!!’ I expect The ones in the apartment parking lot to be rough. But damn!!!
Very happy with my decision - so far. Just moved on 11/1 so still getting settled and learning my way around.
Welcome to the triad! And LOL we live close to that Harris Teeter and I sometimes strategically enter/exit that parking lot to avoid the bumps. Our apartment complex is loaded with those blasted things; if there are open parking spaces next to them, I swerve around. I understand the reasoning why they exist.... doesn't make me hate them any less, though lol.
I'll say, I haven't really noticed a higher amount of them here than other cities.
Just be grateful they aren't in the neighborhoods. The first time I saw that was over a decade ago in Raleigh near Capital Blvd (extremely busy road) and couldn't believe it. Then my aunt's neighborhood has them and I forget when I visit sometimes. The only place I've ever seen them in Winston and it's a pain in the arse.
