It appears the NC Legislature may not have been aware of this development. Or, so they claim.
LOL! Weren't aware? Or once it became news they found a way to score some political points?

Did you read to the end of the article? The part that details the 5 questions that the legislators would like answered by HHS? I'm a Greensboro taxpayer as well as a Democrat and I'd like them answered myself. Do you, yourself, find any of the questions objectionable or unreasonable? And if so, why? What's wrong with bringing a little daylight to the proposal? If it's a sound and well thought out plan that a majority of residents support, then there's no reason it shouldn't come to pass. Wait, don't tell me..........Republican bad, Democrat good? Free advice? Break free from the herd. I'll warn you up front though, it requires some degree of independent and critical thought. Almost forgot......LOL.

Sure, I'd like some questions answered. But keep on making assumptions.

I'm laughing at rhetoric. I'm laughing at the immediate outrage. And yes, I'm laughing at your assumptions about me. I understand there are valid questions including those addressed in the article.

A majority of the Republican party has indeed "gone off the deep end". This is objectively and unassailably true. Are there left wing crazies? Well, duh, yes there are but no amount of whataboutism changes, mitigates or in any way lessens the unimaginable craziness being demonstrated by the republican party today.

Most importantly, these wacked out nutjobs ARE, unfortunately, very relevant politically because they control the republican party. And their cult leader recently served as president, remember? Yesterday's SCOTUS decision, among about a thousand other things, clearly proves the group's political relevance.

This is really a coincidence, because I was just thinking about the craziness of the wacked out Left Wing nutjobs that recently burned and looted our cities while pilfering "reparations" from smashed department store windows. Or the ones in Washington, putting forth the idea of defunding the police as crime runs rampant. Or a "GBI" for freeloaders from our already depleted federal coffers. Both almost as silly as their notion that "no human is illegal". Isn't perspective a crazy thing? I'm pro-choice and I didn't personally enjoy seeing Roe-v-Wade overturned, but it was never a constitutional issue and the original ruling was seriously flawed. The issue of abortion rights is now back in the hands of state legislatures where it always belonged, and where it'll ultimately reflect the will of a majority of a state's residents. A ruling that you personally disagree with, makes our conservative Supreme Court Justices "nutjobs" only in your own mind. And by the way, no amount of you SAYING something is "objectively and unassailably true" actually makes it so. Yes, the Right is extremely relevant and so is the Left. Isn't this the beauty of a vibrant multi-party political system? It's the extremist nuts of both parties that are simply elevator music on the fringes. In fact, I can barely hear you. Come into the center where the acoustics are much clearer.

We'll have at agree to disagree about the relevancy of the crazy wing of the republican party (along with some other things). IMO, the crazies are very clearly in charge of the GOP in a way AOC et. al aren't in charge of with the dems.

If/when this place opens up, Greensboro will become part the taxpayer funded human smuggling event facilitated by the Biden administration.

Greensboro has been supporting refugees for decades. Calling support "smuggling" is some pretzel logic.
