Annexation means more money for a town.

The reason why many fight it is because they are completely happy with the absence of that town's presence in their community (fire/police/etc.). And they do not want to pay more for services they don't want.

But the city needs money - so they acquire more residents.

Kinda like invasions and war!

What I call it could not be printed. It's down town area in losing businesses and all furniture jobs are going away.
I think it going to be a ghost town as when they annex bordering areas stores and service centers will extend from the down down to the new areas.

The city council is not helping down town by turning into a slum.
