Clemmons & Lewisville are great places to raise a family. There is great info on some of the previous posts for schools, & Lester mentioned Clemmons West & it's proximity to Tanglewood Park, which is very nice.

If you have small children, you can't go wrong with the elementary, or middle schools in the area (West Forsyth High is good too, but Lewisville is in the new Reagan High district, and many parents are desiring to move there so their kids can go - which of course is causing some property values to go up). I had a child in each elementary (Southwest), middle (Meadowlark) & high school (Reagan) (& even 1 in pre-school!) this year, and we were happy with the results.

There are currently 47 properties on the market in the $235k to $259k range (2 of those were built in the 60's; 6 in the 70's; 6 in the 80's; 9 in the 90's & that leaves 24 that were built in 2000 or newer (average sq. footage is about 2200'). 41 of those are in Clemmons. Lewisville is not as large as Clemmons, so there's not as much available in that price range. Hope that helps!

I've heard that is a good area too - in fact I am a teacher looking for a job in NC and that is one of the areas that I would love to teach in.

Also what is the difference from forsyth and davidson counties? Is one better? We are looking at spending around 250,000 for a house, is at reasonable to assume that i can get a new home in a good area for that? We will be down there in july to check it all out so if anyone can give me some insight as to where to go and what to see i would be very grateful.
I'm from NYC and also lived in North Jersey, I now live in Clemmons, NC 34 years old married also with 2 children and love it here. I have lived in Winston Salem as well as Lewisville but Clemmons is by far my favorite. You will find alot of northern transplants in the Clemmons area as well.

I live in a house built in the early 70's all brick 2100 sq ft on .61 acres in a good community that was purchased for 139,000 2 years ago, I don't know what some are saying but I have seen more trhan a few brand new homes for under 250k in this area and are in pretty nice...

You need to know people who know people in this area that are honest and not trying to sell you what they want, I'm also a manager of a locally owned very popular restaurant and know tons of people in these areas including big time builders/developers brokers and so forth...

I'm absolutely in no way, no how a broker or in that biz and have no problem helping out and guiding some people from back home...

Any questions or info you need just ask me...

How is the market in the area for nice two story homes, 1600 sqf+, with a little land, from .25 to .50, up to an acre, for 130K & under? I need to be close enough to an area to find a job in the medical industry, I've been working for a doctor's group for 21 years in FL. Single mid-age mom with two teen girls that will need fun things to do and a safe place to live.

Don't have too much knowledge about that area, I know where it is and have been on those roads once or twice and would not choose that area for relocating. Depends on the person I guess. I love Clemmons too.

I'm sure you can find something in this area with those specs in that price range, as I was telling someone else on here there is a guy who is a specialist sort of say that helps people relocate here from out of state as he once did, I'm trying to locate his info for someone else, if you want once I get it I can PM or post it to you too.

You got the right career going if looking to relocate here, the medical field here is huge, Forsyth Medical and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Brenners Children Hospital are all right here 5 minutes away in Winston-Salem, there are medical centers and tons of private all over the place.

Thank you, I would appreciate any feed back that you can provide.
I have found your input most helpful as well as this site; it certainly puts everything in more perspective!

I found out from my neighbors that used that guy to relocate here that he does all the investigation leg work for you and finds you exactly what you are looking for so you don't have to come here searching time and time again, saving you 1000's of dollars. He takes pictures of the neighborhoods and homes of interest inside and out then emails them to you on a daily basis till you see exactly what you want. He gets you all the info you need, guides you while you are here, gets you job leads, hooks you up with honest business people he knows (realitors/brokers/builders/lawyers), points you in the right direction toward good family health care physicians, honest mechanics, vets, shopping, and so forth.

He is in the same business as I am which is restaurant management so if my neighbors can not get me his info by Sunday morning then I will call his restaurant Sunday afternoon and get it from him and explain that there are a few of interest he could talk to.

Private message me your email and I'll get it to him, I'm pretty confident he can land you the house, area, and job you are looking for in this area, he has a great reputation and is supposed to be as honest as they come, he was done wrong when he relocated here by realitors and such and is said to not want that to happen to others so he created this side business and runs ads up north somewhere for people looking to relocate to this area of NC.

Again, I'm sure he has a lot of connections in the health care department here to lead you to a job as this area is known for it's health care.
