Sorry...it's Bob Hughes (same developer of Riverplace) not Phil Hughes working on Washington Square. The person who sent me the info just said Hughes and I thought he was talking about Phil but he was actually talking about Bob instead.
Does anybody actually know how large of a project we're talking about here like in terms of highrise size or development costs?
I'm hearing a new "signature" tower in the 20-story range, two midrise buildings, national retailers including a bookseller, and possibly a hotel. Piazza Bergamo will be yet another focal point and gathering place for our urban core. It will definitely rival Falls Park and RiverPlace and will do a lot to spread out the attractions downtown.
From my understanding, funding is largely secured and tenant agreements are in place so we should not see construction delays on this.
