My husband and I along with our 2 children ages 4 and 11 months are considering moving to South Carolina in October and are needing some advice. We are looking for a small, quiet town with a population no more than 3,000, near the Georgia border. We were looking at a few different areas mainly Arial and Modoc. Can anyone help us out by telling us about these two cities. Also we are in need of locating jobs and homes in these areas so any leads there would be greatly appreciated. We are moving from the Greater Atlanta area, my husband is 31 and I am 25. He has a BFA and I am a stay at home mommy studying to be a Medical Claims and billing specialist. We are looking for at least a 3 bedroom no more than 120,000. A little land would be nice but not necessary, but no apartments.
We decided on the Easley - Pickens area, visited the area Tuesday and fell in love. Still would like all the info anyone can give us on this area.. Housing, Jobs, Schools etc...
Questions:
Is Preschool/Pre-K funded by the state and thus free of charge there or do most places charge for these there?
Does anyone know where the Pickens County Health Dept. and Dept of Family and Childrens Services are located and can you give the contact info for these places?
