I thought IHOP was going on the northeast corner of West Wade Hampton and North Suber Road. Grading was completed months ago for future development.

I drive by there every day, twice a day. CVS is on the Sortheast Corner, the 2 acre grassy lot next to McDonalds is on the SW, the Northeast corner is a tire store.

Good question, we've all been asking that here locally ourselves. There has not been an ounce of activity there.

The site in question would be your northwest corner, across from McDonalds and the tire store on adjacent corners, and CVS diaganolly across.

Kohl's has a spring 2013 opening date last time I checked. Not actively engaging in construction will not help the store open sooner.

Kohls only holds grand openings on two dates per year. They coordinate them at one time on the same day in the Spring and Fall. If they don't get started soon they will not make the Spring date for Grand
Openings.

Has any major work been completed inside Kohl's intended space? Being unused for several years may have caused the mechanical aspects to deteriorate.

Stores opening in the fall not only brings in new customers, but it is a quick start into the holiday sales season. Opening in the spring allows time to build up customer base gradually.

I am sure that old Kmart will be taken down to a metal skeleton. I know when Kohls took over the old Kmart in Simpsonville it was taken down to practically the steel and the concrete pad and that Kmart was built in the 90's.

I also know the Greenwood Kohls just opened and it took aboout 4 to 5 months and it was built all new.

Fairview Station, which has Kohl's and Ingle's, was constructed around 1989 to 1990.

The former Kmart in question was constructed in the 1970s alongside then-Piedmont Plaza.
