Hi all,
We were really craving Thai food tonight and weren't sure where to go. SO! Where is the best thai food in the update?

Appreciate all your help! Thanks!

I'm not sure if they are open on Sundays or not (thinking they aren't), but Bangkok Thai on Pelham Rd is the absolute best and most authentic in this area. It's in the older shopping center right next to the Greenville County library branch on Pelham Rd. I have some friends who spent several years in Thailand and Taiwan, and this is the only place they'll eat when they want authentic Thai food. The family that runs it is Thai, and still spends time in Thailand. I've never had anything there that I didn't love. My favorite time to go is lunch on Thursdays- their soup on Thursdays is wonderful. Also, I could eat their salad dressing by the spoonful. If they are closed today, definitely give them a try another day!

Try Sweet Basil (intersection of Pelham & SC 14). Never a bad meal.

My wife and I are thai snobs and have tried several places in Upstate SC - unfortunately, most are disappointing (yes, Lemongrass).

I agree with FitMom - Bangkok Thai is the best in the area. The interior is a little dated and, in the summer, it's warm (the last time we were there) - but the food and service are great. Try it. Not open on Sundays.

What about Thai of Greenville? I always thought it was good. I'll have to checkout Bangkok. Thai of greenville seems to have changed their name Thai Sky Exotic Thai Restaurant & Sushi Bar | Greenville, SC. Anyone know if it is the same?

I've always thought Thai Restaurant on Augusta Street was pretty good. The interior is horrible, but the food has consistently been good.

Honestly, I don't know from "good" Thai food - I love just about ALL Thai food! So, I've got several faves. IMHO, you can't go wrong - enjoy!

I came in here to recommend Bangkok on Pelham, but now I'll just add my voice to everyone else.

And get the Bangkok Banana for dessert there: coconut ice cream with a deep fried banana and (chocolate?) sauce.
