Seems like a nice lake and in close proximity to downtown, but I rarely hear it mentioned. Do folks live on it...ie is it developed? Is swimming and boating allowed? Seems like a good place to build if there is land available, many thanks.

I know there are homes and even some condos on/near Saluda Lake. It's pretty small, but attractive.

I know some people who live there but they also have a place at Keowee. I used to see some boats there from time to time but they had a problem keeping the ramp open once too. Not sure if people still swim there or not. They used to and there was quite a bit of skiing there once upon a time.

Any idea why it trailed off? Looks like a very nice place.

They had some issues with dredging the lake but it is being dredged now. It is a nice place in my opinion. We almost purchased there but changed our mind because we needed more garage space. It is actually part in Pickens County (lower taxes) & part in Greenville County. I guess people like it because I never see a lot come on the market over there.

I used to live on it, there are no restrictions, skiing swimming whatever. Hard to find places to live on it, they are few and far between. Also property value is an issue there, trailers next to million dollar homes and what not. Easley side is very rural, Greenville side is its own little neighborhood but close to some areas you may not want to be near.

I looked at a house on it when I was getting ready to buy, but it needed a lot of work, and by the time I had made a decision, someone had already snatched it up(within days of it being listed!) this was a few years ago but there were a few lots for sale when I used to go out boating around the lake, that may still be the case. So glad they are finally dredging, its been years they've been talking about it!
