Another option you may want to consider is what I do. Every summer I rent the $18.00 phr flatbed from Home Depot. Luckily for me there's a mulch yard on my way home which I stop at and get the amount of mulch I need. Usually around 6 scoops of the black mulch that's sold at $15 per scoop. I can generally pick up what I need, drop it off at my house and get the truck back to Home Depot within the hour. Just a suggestion for those who are able and don't mind a little extra work.

Where do you get it for $15/yard? My husband just started his landscaping business back up here in SC and the least we found was $24/ yard and it wasn't the prettiest stuff.
The place I mentioned before is no longer in business - now I use Southern Mulch (you see it on the right just as you take the 85 South exit for 385 North, but you have to go down the Roper Mtn Science Center road to get there)
The regular double ground undyed brown mulch is $24/yd^3 if I recall correctly, and I think they include delivery if you buy at least 10 yards.
I got some good prices last year at Schneider tree care. The mulch (the cheap one) was more ground than some would like but it was naturally dark and good quality. I would bet some of the other tree trimming companies may sell mulch as well.
Living Social has a deal for a few more days for mulch from MULCH MART in Powdersville. If you go pick it up 2 cubic yards is $28 and if you want the 10 cu yards load, and are in their delivery area (you have to put your zip code in to find out) it includes delivery for $150.
I lucked out, LS had a $25 off deal (expired now) so I ended up paying $125 for the 10 cubic yards which includes delivery. I figured it came out to the equivalent of .90c for the same amount I would get in a 2 cu ft bag from the big box store.
Personally, I will only use cypress near the house, but this is going in various places way out in the yard, so hardwood double ground is fine. It's all hardwood as I saw someone ask the question before I bought the deal.
Hoping it's good mulch...I'm sure I'll need more, but this is a start!
I recently bought mulch at Landscapers Supply in Simpsonville on Fairview Rd. I think it was $14 per scoop which seems very reasonable to me.
That's the contractor mulch. We've used Landscaper Supply. They have nice mulch but a bit pricey. We still go for quality and won't buy mulch that looks almost decomposed or full of sticks.
I got scotts mulch for $3 a bag at home depot last week, don't know if they are still running that deal tho, it was nice, backed my truck up and they loaded it up for nothing extra

They had the Scotts on sale the week before for 5/$10.
Last year I bought the all cypress mulch for $1.29 a bag (plus extra off for a coupon I had) at HD...not sure what happened to that particular type of mulch, but it was more expensive than Scotts and it seems the cheapest I can find it now is $2.49 I have yet to see it on sale anywhere...
Just saw via email that if you make an IN-APP purchase on Living Social using the promo code APP15 the deal for Mulch Mart on the 10 cubic yard of mulch delivered would be $127.50. Just another $2.50 more than what I got the other day, but hey, at least it's something off!
